Inktober Day 19 – Sling

sling

noun
a flexible strap or belt used in the form of a loop to support or raise a hanging weight. “the horse had to be supported by a sling fixed to the roof”

a simple weapon in the form of a strap or loop, used to hurl stones or other small missiles.”700 men armed only with slings”

I am going with a sling bridge, or a nice rope bridge slung between a rock cliff and Carrickarede Island. There happens to be a really famous one in Northern Ireland, called the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. It’s in county Antrim. Salmon fisherman originally built a bridge here 350 years ago, to catch fish on the island. But now it’s a tourist attraction. Some jerks vandalized it in 2017, cutting some of the ropes but engineers got it up and running in 24 hours. This is just a fun place to stop by.
