Oh the excitement of Halloween is building, or Samhain as we call it here! One of my favorite holidays, I just love everything about it. Getting dressed up, painting pumpkins, eating loads of candy, and drawing scary things. I can’t even begin to say how thrilled I am that my daughter has taken this all full on. She is telling me that we are falling behind schedule and what not. We do her home work and then straight to the days drawings. It was a good decision to go off two lists, because some of this years Inktober’s prompts are…well…not that interesting. So its nice to switch back and forth.
Now enough delays, on to the main show!
Day 9 – PRESSURE
Here is one of those concepts that I would have thought would be difficult for a 5 year old. But she thought of a balloon popping! I keep telling her if someone tells her to
jump off a bridge, would she?
Seems appropriate to use this one for pressure!
I was the kid that would jump off the bridge.
Day 10 – FULL MOON
Day 11 – CAT
Rest in Peace – Fire Kitty
Day 12 – STUCK
Help get the Fairy out of the Pumpkin! One spelunking trip too many!
Day 13 – ROOF
That is it for now. I hope you are enjoying this as much as we are! If not, well, pick up a pencil and start drawing!
Here is an example of Inktober I did a few years back!
Thank you for your post. Always interesting and ever amazing. Halloween was such a British middle ages heresy it astonishes me that so much of the world celebrates it as a holiday. (a holy day) . .I love your joy in creativity . Happy too your daughter loves you and loves you art work. Have a brilliant Time!
These pictures are wonderful!! Skylar’s are incredible for her age. You are both terrific artists!!!!!
Skylar’s work this time is exceptional. The balloon needed no explanation, I saw it right away. Cat and the Moon is something to hang on the wall. Your Fire Kitty is so pretty, did you lose your cat recently? I got such a kick out of the spelunker – ha! And Skylar’s imagination again, with the fairy. But what a great house she drew – on stilts! How did she think of that?
Hi Crystal,
Thanks. We really are having a blast. The stilts on her house is because we are planning on building a play house.
My sisters cat passed and that was a quick sketch of that. Thanks for checking it out.
